The batteries work fine new as I would expect. About the time someone is able to leave a long term usage review, there will be even newer rechargeable battery technology.

As a flashaholic, it's hard to believe that it took me this long (I started hanging out on CPF in '00) to make the jump to rechargeable 1.5V AA and AAAs. What finally nudged me over the edge was the battery that came with my Surefire Titan Plus. This is a very nice starter package for those wanting 1.5V AA and AAAs for their devices.

The batteries last a good while, comparable or better than any of my other favorites. Nice compact charger... simple, easy, and does what it's supposed to.

Can't go wrong with these. Charger is good and the batteries that come bundled with it make it a good value. Eneloops are great for their low discharge qualities and if you buy these, you can get away from using disposable batteries in all your items throughout your house (remotes, lights, toys, etc.) and save alot of $$ as well as help the environment with not adding batteries to landfill.

I use these for Canon wireless camera flashes and this is a nice little kit to be portable. The charger is nice a compact and fits in my camera bag if I just want it with me. Would highly recommend this for photographers using external flashes!

The eneloop batteries are superior to any others I have tried. While you give up a couple hundred mah you gain a long term storage with low drain. So you don't need to charge them every two to three weeks. This saves a lot of money over buying alkaline cells. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs high performance rechargeable batteries. The included charger is a slow charger which means you get the maximum lifetime from the batteries. Can be fast charged but may cause loss of battery life meaning fewer charge-discharge cycles. I use an OPUS BTC-2000 charger so I can choose the charge rate for each battery slot.
