As shown the tip comes to a point which is nice for some things but not every use. A version that was flat at the end and not pointed would be nice for kid related uses.

If you work with metal or wood these are a small but inexpensive essential. They are simple but effective in gripping small slivers. The holder works and has been on my keychain for years and it is always right there when I need it.
