Great run time
September 27, 2022
This is the perfect size for hanging from the roof of a tent. It has loops on the top and the bottom so you can choose which way you want to hang it. Pop the cover off and it should light up your whole tent.

Great little lantern using common AA batteries

I have better (Sofirn LT1) lanterns but, this one is smaller, lighter, and more convenient to use. For something roughly the size of a 12oz can of soda, it sure works well.

Another Excellent Streamlight product
October 14, 2019
Bought 2 of these lights three weeks ago for a camping trip. We got back last week. Lights worked great. While they are small to medium size they put out plenty of light. I liked the size because they don't take up too much space on the picnic table. With 3 levels of light we were able to turn them down and enjoy the fire. I'm thinking of picking up two more of them to keep around the house for emergencies.

What's not to like? The light is compact, versatile, plenty bright, and it floats!

WOW!
September 7, 2019
Purchased as a component of our family's emergency bags.
I was surprised at just how small this lantern is! It fits very nicely in my emergency pack (Karrimor Hydro30), occupying about the same space as a MSR Windburner or similar stove (stowed configuration - i.e. the "cup").
Combined with the ability of this light to be mounted in a number of different ways (the magnetic base is a very nice feature, and holds the light very securely, even upside-down), this makes for excellent utility for emergencies.
IPX-7 certification allows me to have this unit as a true emergency utility lamp without worrying about water/weather issues.
It's a little heavier than I would have liked, but not outrageous, particularly considering the power-source and the magnets in the base.
I would have liked a lock-out feature to prevent accidental switch-on.

Small, but surprisingly bright

I own another LED latern that is more full-size. This one was smaller than expercted, but I am pleased with the brightness and run time. Also, the smaller size makes it easier to pack for hiking, camping,or travel. Highly recommend.

I bought this lantern as a back up light that I can take with me and it works very well and is much smaller than it looks in the pictures but throws out really good light!

Amazing Little Light
October 3, 2017
I bought this based on previously written comments so I expected it would be good. But, I was surprised when I opened my box and saw how small it really is. But, it is amazing, extremely handy and I like the bright color. I leave it on my nightstand at home to use in case of power outage. Prior to that I took it with me on vacation and used it whenever I needed to move around at night. Easy to pack due to its small size. Much more even light than a flashlight, many handy ways to hang or place it and it is bright. I also like that it uses AA batteries. I plan to get more for gifts...
ProsSmall Size, bright light, multiple modes
ConsCan't seem to find any...

Great small lantern
March 9, 2016
I purchased this for just under $30 on a black Friday sale. This lantern is definitely worth that sale price! I run re-chargable low self discharge AA batteries in this and bought it to have in case of power outages instead of balancing a flashlight on end to light a room. The 3 output settings are spaced out well and run times are good as well. The rigid handle lets it hang off a shelf or basement rafter or you can tie a string to it or hang on a hook. Handle folds down out of the way for storage. This lantern casts plenty of light and is very portable for travel or backpacking. The kids use it to light up tents and play forts they make out of blankets and pillows and I just keep a second set of batteries charged to swap them out when I need to.
There is a similar lantern made by streamlight that can be purchased that runs on a large li-ion battery and you can recharge it by plugging the lantern in (to USB charger I believe) but it costs just over $100 and IMO is not worth it unless you need the longer run times.
Proscompact, light weight, good light output for size. Decent run time. Good value at sale price.
ConsI'm not sure I would pay full price for this - personally I will buy another if I see it on sale to give to my mom to have for power outages.

I just got two of these from Battery Junction. I would give them a 10 Star rating if possible. Very sturdy and well built. I am going to order 4 more so that I can have one in each vehicle plus the RV and a couple in the house.
ProsSmall and Sturdy
Great features and ergonomics
Uses AA Eneloop Batteries that maintain their charge
Fair Price

Do Not Judge a " Lantern " by It's Size
December 25, 2015
Folks, old dogs can learn new tricks . . . :-)
When I pulled this lantern out of the box, I almost gave it to the grandkids for their "campouts". Then before we retired to bed, I put some batteries in it, turned it on high mode, & watched in amazement as our 15'X25' living room lit up with enough light to read the instruction sheet on how to turn on the red light mode. Absolutely one of the best lights I have come across. I have recently ordered two more along with some batteries & storage cases to put one in each of our vehicles. Excellent light, great price, & shipped quickly . . . what is there not to like ???
ProsSmall size / excellent light output / magnetic base / still finding situations to use it.
ConsDon't think there will be any . . . .
