Surefire Sidekick? You're joking right? A sidekick is supposed to reliable.
After several months sidekick died, won't recharge, won't hold a charge. Spent 75 minutes trying to get through Surefires customers service line, no answer. As avid user of Surefire lights this is disappointing. Think twice! 77 bucks and it dies after three months? No answer on customer service? Your far better off carrying the fury.

Bright Light
This is a nice little light about the size of a key fob that is bright. I use it on my keys or just put in my pocket and it is always handy for use. It can be programmed to start on bright or low light, what ever your preference. The front portion where the bulb is gets a little warm when using, and when you charge it blinks constantly like a strobe on low light. It eventually stops when fully charged.
ProsSmall, compact charges by usb and is very bright
Consblinks when charging so must keep secluded where you don't mind the constant blinking

What a Great Pocket Flashlight!
This is a great pocket flashlight! To put on a key ring is not really practical - its bulky in the pocket on a key ring. This flashlight is extremely bright and perfect for lighting up a walk area. As for distance, this light will adequately lighten distance. I have owned this light about two weeks now, have used it on high setting (over a few nights) for a total of about 35 minutes before needing to be recharged. The flashlight does get warm to the touch when left on longer than a few minutes.
ProsFits nice in a pocket Bright Rechargeable Durable
ConsGet warm to the touch after a few minutes

Light, bright and rechargeable - the perfect travel & EDC flashlight
I buy too many flashlights. I have several SureFires and put this one on my wishlist when it came out. Finally pulled the trigger and glad I did. As my headline says, this is a great light for everyday carry and for travel. I was recently on a 2 week trip to Italy and France and had to carry extra batteries. If I'd had this baby, I could have just recharged on the fly. I like the 3 light settings. The lowest is perfect to help see in a dark room without disturbing my sleeping wife. Highly recommended.
Pros- Great form factor - Rechargeable - don't need to carry extra batteries - 3 light settings
Cons- It's not quite as thin as I thought it would be from the pictures.

Very bright, but................
High mode is super bright. Low and Med modes are useful too. The size is a little smaller than an alarm fob. The switch is good and stiff so it is difficult to accidentally turn on. On the negative side, it could use a cover for the USB slot to prevent debris or liquid from getting inside it. The flashing light while charging is annoying. I would have liked to have seen a dim blue or red LED charge light instead. It is costly too.

Surefire the best
This compact pocket flashlight puts out a wall of light in the best CRI, (color rendition). Things appear in their natural color, no bluish tint. the switch on the side can be programmed to go low medium high or high medium low, the switch is a little hard to push but has never come on in my pocket by mistake. It does seem a little large to combine on a key ring with a car remote. It's also a little high priced but being a surefire I personally never returned a surefire and got it back not repaired free of charge.
ProsFor its size the Light output is almost unbelievable on high, low is just about right for walking in the house at night without disturbing others. Plastic case seems very tough, being able to recharge over 1000 times and not buying batteries means you'll probably lose this light before the battery will stop charging.
ConsNone for me.

SureFire Sidekick
picked up this item recently and must say its was little more than expected. purchased with $10 coupon and free shipping and no tax to (CA) came out to about $62. cheaper than other place I looked
Pros3 light settings, push button power switch, rechargeable battery, SureFire brand backing/warranty, compact light weight.
ConsNo dust cap/cover for the micro USB recharging port, may risk possible damage from water or liquid entering the port. Would like a optional silicon or rubber cover to prevent shock damage to the case when dropped if attached to keys.

Unexpected Brilliance
I really wanted this flashlight to be bright. But it turned out to exceed my expectations. It feels of high quality. One thing that keeps it from being perfect for me is that it doesn't remember the last brightness setting used. I haven't had it long enough to test charge time or light longevity times.
ProsVery bright, fits in pocket nicely (flat not round), excellent quality, rechargeable via mini USB
ConsNo brightness level memory

Good Bright Small Pocket Light
Great little light to attach to the key chain. Little larger than my key fob but not by too much. Light weight. One annoying feature you must always cycle all modes to get to the setting you want, no shortcuts. If you turn it on and use it on low power you will have to hit the button to medium then high then off to turn it off. You can change the cycle from off-high-medium-low to off-low-medium-high easily. The light will flash every few seconds when charging, so don't plan on charging it at your night stand, or your car at night when driving. Has a good run time and a nice bright wide beam good for nearly any job. Possible self-defense ability if set to start on the highest setting first. Surefire is a great brand of dependable flashlights. This one is the lowest cost surefire lights I have purchased and the all plastic case reminds me that this probably won't be nearly as durable as their other products. Overall very nice, just not a typical surefire product and not the first thing I would grab in an emergency situation.
ProsSmall Bright Rechargeable Long run time
ConsFlashes when charging Have to cycle all settings when turning on or off All plastic
